Manuela Bravo performing “Sobe, Sobe, Balão Sobe” (”Rise, Rise, Balloon Rise”), the Portuguese entry at the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest. A strong start to a very strong contest, a very entertaining, contemporary light-disco number with a wonderfully uplifting chorus, it’s no wonder that this song gave the Portuguese their first top-10 ranking in 6 years.
